Cette vidéo s'adresse à la vidéo performance de 1971 de John Baldessari I am Making Art, avec humour et esprit d'analyse.
La jeune artiste, Miller, traite les mouvements style tai chi de Baldessari en tempo contemporain, en transformant les gestes méditatifs de départ en figures de breakdance. Miller s'introduit dans la nouvelle séquence vidéo et danse autour de Baldessari.
Cette nouvelle danse de Baldessari et Miller s'effectue sur la musique de "Work it" de Missy Elliott. Les trois artistes (Baldessari, Elliott, et Miller) forment une nouvelle collaboration, un trio qui fait référence.
La vidéo aborde un certain nombre de question relatives au rôle des femmes dans l'histoire de l'art, aux tentatives d'appropriation/hommage de jeunes artistes, au sens du geste artistique dans l'art vidéo et à l'humour comme moyen de soulever ces points .
Toute la séquence de I am Making Art a été utilisée avec
l'autorisation enthousiaste de John Baldessari.
